Hosting and server logs
The site is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. When you open a page, Vercel processes technical data such as your IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser's user agent, to deliver the page and protect it against abuse. Vercel keeps these logs for a short period. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Vercel acts as our processor under a data processing agreement; transfers to the USA rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses. Fonts are served from our own domain, not from Google.
Calculations
Everything you enter into a calculator is processed in your browser and is not sent to us.
Map and address search
The square footage calculator lets you draw an area on a map. The map loads only when you choose “Draw on map”. It then loads map and satellite images from Esri (Environmental Systems Research Institute, Inc., Redlands, California, USA), and in some cases street map images from the OpenStreetMap Foundation (UK). If you search for an address, the text you type is sent to Esri, or to the OpenStreetMap Nominatim service, to find it on the map. These providers receive your IP address and the requested map area or search text as part of the request. If you use “My location”, your browser asks for your permission and your position is used only in your browser to center the map; it is not sent to us. The legal basis is your request to use the map (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). Transfers to the USA rely on standard contractual clauses. Stored in your browser
We set no cookies. We use your browser's local storage, which never leaves your device, for the following conveniences:
- whether you prefer imperial or metric units
- the material lists you add to your project list
- the state you pick for cost estimates
You can delete these entries at any time by clearing the site data in your browser settings.
Web analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand which pages are useful. It records aggregate visits and page views, including the page path, referring site, approximate location, browser and device type. It uses no analytics cookies. Vercel distinguishes visits using a hash derived from the request and discards the visitor session after 24 hours.
We remove query parameters and URL fragments from page-view URLs before sending them to analytics. We do not send calculator inputs, saved profiles or deal files as analytics events. See Vercel's Web Analytics privacy documentation for more information.
If you email us, we use your address and message only to answer you and delete them when the conversation is over, unless we must keep them by law (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct and delete your data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR). Write to jonas@sport-calculator.com. You can also complain to a data protection supervisory authority, for example the one where you live or the one responsible for us.
No advertising or automated decision making takes place on this site.
