How the kitchen remodel cost is calculated
The kitchen is priced part by part. Cabinets are priced per linear foot, countertops, backsplash and flooring per square foot, and appliances, sink, lighting and layout changes per item. Each unit price is a US-average installed range from Angi, HomeAdvisor and Fixr; where two guides disagree, the calculator keeps the lowest low, the highest high and the mean of their midpoints as typical. Your finish level picks a band inside each range, and the remodel level (minor refresh, midrange, upscale) sets matching cabinet, countertop and flooring choices you can then change.

Layout changes
Keeping the sink, range and dishwasher where they are saves the most.
